VIDEO

From behind the camera.

(Heart)Broken Record

This is a silent film I shot with a few classmates, telling a short, bittersweet story of a newly single young man's reminiscing on better days with his love - better days he can't get back.

We all lit and shot this together in a single day. It gave invaluable experience for putting together a story without words.

Interview with Warren Cariou

I shot this at the McNally Robinson bookstore in Winnipeg the night of the book launch for the second edition of Elements of Indigenous Style. Warren, a lead editor for the book, was excellent to interview and I really appreciated getting some insight into the work he did on the guide.

Working Draft Promo

A trailer for the 2025 edition of the RRC Polytech's Working Draft magazine. The theme for this year was Movement - a concept I tried to capture in a short little story showing that, while it may come with discomfort and ordeal, it will still always be better than choosing to remain still and stagnate.

Working Draft 2025 is live right now.

EDITING

Less glamorous than camera work, but just as crucial.

Colour Correction (ft. LUTs)

This is an assignment done to train colour correction. The video plays three times over, showing the footage as it originally appeared first, with basic correction second, and correction with a LUT applied third.

I always enjoy doing this. It's a very satisfying process that helps your footage pop.

WRITING

The power of words.

Lost In Translation

My story for Working Draft 2025. In this story, I talk about the recent surging investment in
AI-generated translation for Japanese manga and anime in the last two years, weighing the good and the bad of such a thing against each other. It was a pleasure to cover a topic of personal interest for the magazine.

The story is live on Working Draft right now. I'd highly recommend listening along to it - I put a lot of work into the audio.

Animal Lovers

Content warnings for violence and coarse language.

The screenplay for a 10-minute short film, telling a bloody, harrowing story of one timid man braving the war-torn streets of his city to save his dog's life. While I don't do it all the time, writing is a deep appreciation of mine. Getting to create this was an honour.
